Sticking To My HG
Sticking to my holy grails and not changing up what works. With a new year comes new products to try and new hits and misses. I have learned over the years that one thing that I will not be changing up would be my antiperspirant. Others have come along and failed to do the magic that my Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant does. I have used Dove for YEARS! Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant offers 48 hours of odor and wetness protection plus added skincare benefits of Dove ¼ moisturizers and NutriumMoisture for softer, smoother underarms.
Skincare Routine
Your skin is one of the first tell tale signs of your age, especially the skin around your eyes. Ensuring that you are moisturizing and treating your eye area is SUPER important. Even on nights when I just want to crash into bed, I am ensuring that all my makeup for the day is removed and I have properly completed my skincare routine. I have also made a point to start getting facials regularly.
Can you believe I got my very first facial THIS YEAR? Considering that my mother is an esthetician you would think that I would be a repeat offender over at her salon. But truth is, she always works so far from my home and I never wanted to make the drive. I have made a point to find a sitter and plan a day for me, which includes visiting my momma and getting a facial while I am there.
Drinking MORE WATER
It sounds so simple and easy to do right? Especially if you work from home like me, but it is not! I often realize that when I sit down for dinner that this is the first time that I am drinking something other than coffee for the entire day. This is a BIG NO NO! What I have noticed, as cheesy as it is, is that if I have a really cute cup (with a straw, of course) I will actually remember to drink more. I know, it is foolish. But really, it does work. I have also started adding in fruits to my water to give them a flavor. I am not a soda drinker, and I am not too big on juices because of the sugar, so I am also so limited (and bored) when it comes to staying hydrated.
For my first and most of my second trimester I was having really REALLY bad headaches. I definitely contribute this to my lack of proper hydration. My body was screaming for the nourishment that it needed. I have stepped up my game, I purchased a fruit infusing water bottle as well as picked up a few of those super cute cups in the Target dollar section. This has really helped me to stay hydrated. I hope to continue with this habit through out the year.
At Home Mani & Pedi
Having the time to go to the local nail spa and spend close to 2 hours there is sometimes not possible every other week. For me I love having a fresh manicure and pedicure. Plus, who doesn’t love sitting in those fabulous comfy chairs and having someone rub and scrub their feet. I mean come onnnnnn. Being 8 months pregnant right now, it is a DREAM.
I have invested in a few items that have made my own at home spa. I have an at home foot spa that generates heat and bubbles. I drop in lavender or other scented oils and salts into the water. It becomes a magical experience in my own living room.
I have also purchased a UV Nail Light to allow myself to do gel manicures at home. This has saved me so much time and money. I can do my nails at midnight after the little one is in bed, my husband is snoring away and the house is quiet and peaceful or even during nap time.
What are some beauty upgrades that you are making this year?
Have any that you think I should try?
Let me know!
