Makeup Artists Favorite Highlighters

This post may contain affiliate and/or sponsored links. For more information be sure to check out my disclosure policy.

Highlight is all the rage and every makeup artist on YouTube talks about doing it. It can be intimidating to some but I am here to break down a little bit of it for you & share my favorite products.

Makeup Artists Favorite Highlighters

First off, is where should you highlight? Areas such as cheek bones, under the brow and cupids bow, down the bridge of the nose, center of the chin and forehead are all prime targets to apply some sort of illuminator aka highlighter.

Next up is how to apply it. Depending on your comfort level, tools can range from a small brush to your fingertips. Some products such as the Becca Skin Perfector (listed below) can easily be mixed into your foundation to apply an all over subtle yet amazingly perfect shimmer to your face. Liquid highlighters are best to be applied with your fingertips and powders are best to be applied with a small synthetic brush or fan brush when applying to your cheekbones.

So what highlight to buy. These are some of my favorites I am sharing with you.

Love this! Nyx and Makeup Revolution also have awesome and affordable highlighting powders that aren’t too flakey
