These hotter months are upon us and I have some makeup essentials to share with you. Some of these are my holy grails used for years and some are new found favorites. These offer the coverage I desire without the feeling of my makeup melting off my face. Here in South Florida the sun can be cruel and there’s no way I would be able to wear a full face out in this heat!
Starting left to right:
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer This is the perfect amount of color correction and coverage for me. The formula is lightweight and provides SPF (30) and luminosity to my skin. It allows me to look dewy without appearing greasy. It is meant to be applied with your fingers however I apply using a damp beauty blender. It is not meant to be full coverage. I have used it for years and LOVE IT.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara This one is a newbie for me. I bought because…well after reading the label who wouldn’t? One coat of this mascara allows me to look like I am a fully rested and functioning! Which is funny because these are lies, I am a mom of a toddler. It is amazing what a good mascara can do for your appearance and mood. I chose not to purchase the waterproof because at the time I had lash extensions on and this is a no no for lash extensions. I am not opposed to the waterproof version however I have never tried it. This mascara can get clumpy if you do more than 2 coats. To be honest, 1-2 is the max that you need. If more coats are needed then you should be adding false lashes instead.
Estee Lauder Idealist Cooling Eye Illuminator As much as I try to live in the land of denial, I do realize that I am getting older. One thing that I know I need to do is take care of my skin. Starting with the skin around my eyes. I have incorporated an eye cream into both my morning and nightly routines. This eye cream has a ceramic tip that always stays cool, like it is right out of the fridge. This is why I love it for my morning routine with my makeup. I place 3-4 dots around my under eye with the applicator and then use my ring finger to dab the product into my skin. It will help reduce the look of dark circles, puffiness, shadows and fine lines. I received this item as gratis while working for Estee Lauder.
Now after researching it for this post I am finding that it is out of stock every where and quite pricey. I have had it for almost a year so I can at least say that you get your money’s worth. I am open to suggestions if anyone has any for when this runs out on me.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer Moment of silence for this HOLY GRAIL. I cannot be without this concealer. It is a must all year long. I cannot say enough amazing things about this product. When used properly, it will not crease. This is a huge deal for an under eye concealer. The formula is super creamy & light without being oily or too light in coverage. It blends perfectly into the skin. I use the applicator provided and blend out with a damp beauty blender. I have bought 3 tubes already and I will continue to repurchase this.
Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm I have also used this one for years. It is the first thing I apply in the morning. I tend to get dry cracked lips even in the hotter months. I use this to prep my lips before any gloss, stain or liner I may use. Unless I am heading somewhere fancy, like Target, I just use this for the day. It comes in 6 different shades and they’re just so cute and fun.
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer After seeing a YouTuber rave over this, I had to try it. I am normally a Hoola Bronzer supporter and I thought I would never put that one aside. But for this one, I DID! I for one just absolutely love the smell of it. Besides the amazing smell, it is truly buttery. The consistency is so silky smooth and blendable. I never have issues with patchiness or issues with it being orange or muddy. I do not use the applicator that it comes with. I use a Sigma blush brush instead.
What are your go to products for the hotter months? Anything you recommend? I love trying new products.
