Hey there, fellow Disney fans! I wanted to share all the highlights from our recent birthday celebration at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort for those looking to possibly book and do the same. From poolside fun to snacks and amazing views of fireworks from our balcony. Our weekend was nothing short of magical, and I’m excited to give you all the details!
Let’s kick things off with the crown jewel of our stay—the amazing pool complex at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, known as Stormalong Bay. Imagine a huge 3-acre oasis featuring a beach-style pool perfect for little ones, complete with a fun waterslide for both the little ones and my preteens. The large slide was a pirate ship crashed onto the sand, meeting the theme of the resort. I knew about the sand at the resort pool, so I brought along our beach toys, and let me tell you, the kids had an absolute blast building sandcastles and swimming around for hours. Some of the adults also got a chance to float around on the lazy river.
Now, let’s talk dining options! We started our first day with breakfast at Ale & Compass Restaurant. While the food was good, we found that the added buffet option wasn’t worth the extra cost. It was our only dining experience there during the weekend, and while it was enjoyable, we opted for more budget-friendly options for the rest of our meals. We initially planned to dine at Yachtsman Steakhouse, but with five kids under 10, we decided to cancel as it didn’t seem like the most kid-friendly environment or menu. When it was time for poolside snacks and meals, Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar & Grill had us covered with plenty of options for both kids and adults. Both adult drinks and kids drinks with poolside snacks and meals. It was also a little pricey, drink-wise but you’re paying for convenience. They have servers available that walk around to take your order and deliver it back to you.
One of the highlights of our stay was indulging in sweet treats at Beaches and Cream Soda Shop, conveniently located right at the resort. From classic sundaes to delicious milkshakes, it was the perfect spot to satisfy our sweet tooth and create lasting memories with the family.
And let’s not forget about our accommodations! Despite being a higher-end resort of the Disney options, one room was spacious enough for our family of six, allowing us to save on accommodation costs. Plus, the hotel was pet-friendly, accommodating some furry family members without any hassle. We had family members join us at the resort, and the hotel was kind enough to provide joining rooms for our convenience.
Lastly, our room with a water view provided a stunning backdrop for our stay and offered front-row seats to the nightly fireworks show. Watching the fireworks from our balcony every single night was a truly magical experience for all the kids.
All in all, our weekend at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort was a dream come true. If you’re looking for the ultimate family-friendly getaway with a touch of Disney magic, I highly recommend checking out Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
