Do you struggle with staying organized at school, home, or while at work? Or if you’re like me, staying organized while working from home. If you’re a messy and/or a busy person, staying organized is almost impossible to stay on top of. While keeping things tidier can help you find things easier, do you realize how much of a different organization can have on you as a person? It’s true.
That’s because your brain is able to process things easier, making situations seem less stressful with all the “messy” distractions that are no longer in the way. Here are a few tips that might actually help you stay organized this year.
Get Rid of the Clutter
Whether you’re trying to be more organized at school, work or at home, it’s important to get rid of all the distractions. Anything that you consider to be trash or clutter needs to be tossed to the curb. You’d be surprised not only how much easier it is to breathe but also how much more manageable those areas in your life.
Purchase a Planner
Becoming organized is not only about keeping things in the right place, but also making sure you accomplish all your priorities on a daily basis. Who can possibly remember everything without one? Buying a day planner will remind you of important dates/tasks that you’ve planned weeks beforehand.

Take Notes/Make Reminders
If you’re not the best at remembering, taking notes, or making visible reminders might be a good idea for you. You can write them down on little sticky notes or put reminders on your phone to help you remember.
Always Put Things Back in Place
One of the main reasons why we all struggle to stay organized is because we fail to put something back. Instead of having to spend 10 minutes putting 100 things back in place each day, make an effort to put things back as soon as you’re done with them.
Keep Similar Items in the Same Location
Everyone is guilty of this from time to time. Maybe you have a bad habit of having tools in your garage, kitchen drawer, and also in the basement. Similar items such as tools need to be in one designated spot, that way it’s easier to find what you’re looking for. This also applies to your women’s health care products that you may have tucked away in every room of your house.
Find a Storing System that Works
Out of sight, out of mind is not necessarily the answer to staying organized. If you’re trying to keep your workstation at home organized, you need to be able to find something quickly, instead of hunting through every drawer, cracks, and crevices. If something is tucked away in a drawer, labels will work nicely without having to dig through your entire work area.
Tidy Up a Few Minutes Each Day
At the end of the day, spend a few minutes tidying up and reorganizing that space you’ve worked so hard to keep organized. This should take no more than 5 minutes if you keep up on it, instead of spending an hour having to start all over.
These are several ways that you can stay better organized this year. Do you struggle to stay organized in certain areas of your life? What other ways have worked for you when you’re trying to stay organized?
