As we welcome in the New Year, perhaps the best resolution for parents is to give themselves a well-deserved “time-out” and a little bit of “me time.”

Even a short spurt of “me” time goes a long way! A quarter of moms surveyed stated that they felt an uninterrupted shower was more relaxing than a day at the spa. I can totally relate to this!

For me, a long hot shower is my “me time”. I grab some extra towels and plant myself on my floor and allow the hot water to run. Most days my showers are done quickly before my daughter wakes up or during an afternoon nap.

Besides my shower time, my other time for me, is when I can sit quietly and read a book. This doesn’t happen too often, but when it does, I am grateful.
