Motherhood is stressful. Adulthood is stressful. How do you relieve stress of everyday life?
I am a work from home mom with two littles that require attention constantly. I get asked all the time how I manage the stress so well? Honestly, the answer is, I don’t. There are a few things I’ve done that helped maintain my sanity and get work done as often as I can. I say often because let’s be honest, the daily grind alone is stressful for Moms and things come up; which is okay too!
Stress is inevitable and sometimes it can be really overwhelming and hard. These tips and tricks are what works for me and the daily stressors of my life!
Tips & Tricks
Schedule: I try to keep the kids on a schedule which allows for them to be less argumentative when I ask them to do something. They know when we have lunch, when we have naptime and when it is time for bath and bed. Wheels on the bus go round and round every night by around 8:15PM in our house in case you were wondering.
Time for myself: I always have a pint of Oreo ice cream on deck in the freezer. I have grabbed a spoon and plopped my butt on the kitchen floor at nap time a time or two. I have also made myself an Oreo milkshake and slid into a bubble bath to Netflix and chill.

Take the help: When my mom, dad or husband are available to hang with the kids while I work or take a day to myself- I take them up on it.
Acceptance: I still wish I had a tattoo “it is what it is” somewhere because I have said this to myself so many times. Not to get all Pinterest moment on you, but it is true. You can only work on the present and your future, I no longer spend so much time worrying myself with things I can’t change.

Yes! Amen! Working from home with kids is definitely one of the most difficult things I do on a day to day basis. I have learned too, over time, that taking people up on hanging out with my kids is one of the BEST ways for me to de-stress. 🙂 Great post!!
Scheduling and time out are big ones that work for me. I also have to try and work ahead as I panic if I’m up against deadlines all the time.
