Tradition in my family has always been to have the Thanksgiving Day parade on for the kids while the Thanksgiving feast is being started. There’s nothing like waking up on Thanksgiving Day, making some hot chocolate, and cozying up to the TV with my family for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year will be even better alongside both my girls. I can’t wait to tune in at 9 a.m. ET to watch the new opening of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

This year the new opening will feature an all-star ensemble cast of celebrities from pop culture, stage and TV all singing and dancing together in an epic performance of Dancin’ in The Street! Also, as part of their first hour of festivities the one and only Gwen Stefani will perform White Christmas at the Bryant Park ice rink surrounded by fans and skaters. How FUN?! I’m kinda jealous of those that get to be there in person.

From the giant character balloons, dazzling floats, the nation’s best marching bands and performance groups, celebrities, and the official entrance of the one-and-only Santa Claus there is so much festive magic displayed. I am sure my tiny tot will jump up and down with excitement over the Olaf balloon.

Do you remember the fist time you tuned in to watch? I can’t remember my first one, but I can’t ever remember NOT watching it. This year we will be able to set new traditions since adding to our family bunch. My new little babe loves music and bright colors, the big flat screen TV will be a HUGE HIT- I am sure! This will be so fun to tune into the time-honored tradition with my girls and my hubby. This year we will be with my mom for Thanksgiving, three generations together will be a picture perfect moment.
