Maintenance is truly patient specific when it comes to fillers and botox/dysport. With the first time patient they will likely want more filler in 1-3 months. This isn’t because the filler is gone but more so patients anxiety and fear of having a HUGE pout is gone. They now feel more comfortable with getting filler understanding it takes many syringes to get an exaggerated lip.
After you have had that second syringe patients notice they get close to a year with our wanting a touch up. After the third syringe patients make see they don’t need a touch for a 1-1.5 years. However, this is still really patient goal specific and even their preference. What I received and what I will continue to rave about in regards to a great filler to just maintain a lip is Juvederm Volbella.
Overall, I was a very lucky patient to never swell, never bruise or have any adverse reactions to the filler or the Dysport. During my follow up Danielle reviewed my before photos, took my after photos and discussed my maintanance plan.
I absolutely love my lips and will continue will them. I could even see myself getting a little more than what I got previously now that the scare factor has wore off. I truly trust Danielle and I know she will ensure that I have a well proportioned and beautiful smile.
Can we please not talk about my hair, that day was a struggle.

Hi Kristen,
I have so many questions!!! Vey few people talk about cosmetic enhancements outside of boob jobs which have become accepted culturally, so thanks for sharing this.
1. How many injections were there in one session?
2. How much pain was there? As you can imagine I’m not a fan of needles especially on one of the most sensitive parts of your face!
3. Ok, not a question but a statement. Your skin looks amazing!
Would love to see more “real” stuff like this.

Hi Jess,
Thank you so much for the sweet compliments. I think my skin has made a drastic change since I started giving it the time, attention and love it deserves. I started seeing my esthetician monthly at Juvly. I recently did a chemical peel & I highly recommend it. Plus, I started using high quality skincare products, SkinBetter skincare line is amazing and I was able to obtain a routine that works for my skin.
In regards to how many injections, this would depend on your assessment of your skin by your injector. My problem area was my forehead and this is the area I target the most. Dysport is 3-1 compared to Botox, full upper face is 150 units or 50 of Botox.
In regards to the pain level, the injections of Dysport were almost painless. Only around the eye area did I feel a slight pinch. With the lip filler the area that I felt a level 5 out of 10 because you are numbed for the injections. The only uncomfortable part with the lips is the philtral columns, the two top points of your cupids bow. In the hands of an experienced injector, you will be fine.
