As a makeup artist I am often given the task of using my brushes as a magic wand. I am here to tell you that although I have talent, I am not a miracle worker. Besides the most important task of taking care of your skin with proper skincare routines, next important task is to prep your skin properly.
The most important thing is ensuring that your skin is moisturized and primed will ensure that your makeup applies flawlessly. I can break it down as simply as comparing it to an english muffin and a bagel. If your skin suffers from dry patches, large pores, etc the products applied will simply be adsorbed into those areas differently than others. This then translates to uneven application and inability to allow your natural beauty to shine. Prepping your skin with moisturizers and primers lays the groundwork for the makeup.
The products that I personally use and those I keep in my professional makeup kit as pictured from left to right in first photo:
CERAVE Moisturizing Cream for Normal to Dry Skin
DR. BRANDT Needles No More No More Baggage
CLINIQUE Fresh Pressed Daily Booster with Pure Vitamin C 10%
ROC Retinol Correxion Sensitive Eye Cream
Pixi FortifEYE Facial Treatment
Schick Silk Touch-up Multipurpose Exfoliating Dermaplaning Tool
